How to make a DIY Photo Studio

For this project students will work together in order to create multiple backdrops and lighting solutions for an in-school studio.

STEPS:

1.  Students will be shown how to create a PVC backdrop stand and then will be distributed into groups to make the following backdrops:

• Tissue paper flower
• Graffiti
• Metallic circles
• Bokeh
• Wrapping paper

2.  Students will create light diffusers and refelctors to use in the studio.

3.  Students will make props for a photo shoot.

4.  Students will practice using the materials that were constructed and participate in a photo shoot.

5.  Students will edit one of their strongest photos in Photoshop using the following:

• Black and White Adjustment Layer
• Hue/Saturation
• Brightness/Contrast
• Vignette
• Sponge Tool
• Patch Tool
• Eye Pop
